La ilaha Allah Muhammad Rasul Allah, al-Mustanjid billah' (in Kufic) Bare-headed and draped male head facing slightly to left. Rev. In inner field, 'Malik al-umara / Qara Arslan ibn / Da'ud ibn Sukman / ibn Artuq'; around, date; all in Kufic. Spengler & Sayles 6. An exceptional example with a beautiful portrait. Small edge crack and with a minor corrosion spot on the reverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
